You've probably seen the phrase farm-to-table on menus and delivery apps. But what does it actually mean here in the Philippines — where most meal services source ingredients from public markets with little clarity about origin, handling, or how they were grown?

We want to answer that honestly. Because we think you deserve to know exactly where every leaf, root, and grain in your meal comes from — not just a tagline, but a real place, a real family, and a real process rooted in the belief that nutritious, natural, tasty, and good-value food should be accessible to everyone.

"The farm isn't a marketing detail. It's the reason everything we make tastes different — and nourishes differently — from what you're used to."

Where It All Started — A Family Dream in 2011

Isabel's didn't start as a business. It started as a retirement dream.

The Isabel's Story

From a small farm to your table

In 2011, newly-retired couple Isabel and Gerry attended a seminar in natural farming — with a simple goal: to grow healthy greens and vegetables for their own family in a quiet corner of Tagaytay. No business plan. Just good food, grown well.

As the quality and quantity of their harvests grew, they began selling to public markets through middlemen. But they quickly realized the value of naturally grown vegetables wasn't being recognized there — and the people doing the growing were the last to benefit.

So they decided to go directly to the people who would care. With the help of their son Jim and niece Chinky Tanseco-Samson, Isabel's — under Karasa Foods Inc. — was born in 2016. A family, together, dedicated to bringing nutritious, natural meals straight to your door.

2016

That origin story still shapes everything about how Isabel's operates today — the way the farm is run, who runs the kitchen, and what ends up in your box.

Meet the Farm Behind Your Meal

Isabel's farm spans about two hectares in Alfonso, Cavite — a cool highland area along the Tagaytay ridge, roughly 80 kilometers south of Manila. At this elevation, the climate naturally discourages many of the pests and conditions that push conventional lowland farms toward chemical intervention. The environment itself does a lot of the work.

The farm currently operates with nine trained workers, guided by a visiting consultant in natural farming methods. These aren't shortcuts — they're generations-old practices that keep the land healthy, season after season.

How Pesticide-Free Farming Actually Works

Crops free from pesticides and fertilizers — that's the commitment Isabel's has kept since day one. But what does that actually look like in practice?

What they don't use

No synthetic pesticides. No chemical fertilizers. No herbicides. The cooler highland climate naturally reduces the presence of many insects and soil diseases that drive lowland farms to spray heavily — which means the absence of chemicals is supported by the environment itself.

What they do instead

The farm relies on composted organic matter to return nutrients to the soil, companion planting to naturally manage pests, and seasonal crop rotation to keep the land productive without depleting it. These are the methods Filipino farmers used for generations before industrial agriculture introduced chemical shortcuts.

  • 01

    Soil nourishment through compost

Natural compost replaces synthetic fertilizers, building richer soil that feeds the plants from the ground up — and passes that nutrition on to you.

  • 02

Companion planting for natural pest control

Strategic crop pairings — herbs, flowers, and vegetables planted together — repel insects naturally, with no chemical residue left on your food.

  • 03

    Seasonal crop rotation

Rotating crops each season prevents soil depletion and naturally disrupts pest cycles — keeping the land healthy long-term, not just productive short-term.

  • 04

Direct from farm to your door

No middlemen. No sitting in a public market. Produce harvested on the farm goes directly into your meal — as close to the source as delivery allows.

What Naturally Grown Food Does for Your Body

The way food is grown doesn't just affect its taste — it affects what you're actually putting into your body. When vegetables are grown without synthetic pesticides and harvested at peak ripeness, the difference shows up in ways that matter.

🥗
More nutrients, retained longer

Produce grown in naturally nourished soil and eaten soon after harvest retains more of its vitamins and minerals — not depleted by weeks of cold storage.

🌿
No chemical residue on your plate

Pesticide-free means what it says. Nothing was sprayed on your greens that shouldn't be there — just the plant, grown the way it was meant to grow.

Real food that actually satisfies

Naturally grown vegetables have richer flavor because they develop at a natural pace — which means meals that taste better and keep you fuller, longer.

💚
Crafted with a nutritionist

Our kitchen team works closely with a nutritionist to ensure every meal delivers on its health promise — not just on paper, but on your plate.

This is why Isabel's offers a range of meal plans — from High Protein and Low Calorie to Plant-Based and Intermittent Fasting — each built around the same foundation of naturally grown, pesticide-free ingredients. Eating well shouldn't mean sacrificing taste, and it shouldn't require guessing what's in your food.

From Farm to Kitchen — The People Behind Your Meals

The farm provides the ingredients. The kitchen turns them into something you'll look forward to eating.

Chef Chinky Tanseco-Samson, General Manager

At the helm of Isabel's kitchen — and the broader operation — is Chef Chinky, who leads the team in developing healthy, nutritious, and genuinely delicious recipes. She works closely with a nutritionist to make sure every dish delivers what it promises: food that's good for you and actually enjoyable to eat.

This is a family business, in the truest sense. Isabel, Gerry, Jim, and Chinky built this together — and that closeness shows in the care that goes into every step, from what gets planted on the farm to what arrives in your box.

Packaging That Closes the Loop

Serving clean food in plastic packaging felt like a contradiction Isabel's couldn't live with. So the team made a deliberate shift.

Biodegradable sugarcane bagasse packaging

Isabel's current packaging is made from biodegradable sugarcane bagasse — a natural byproduct of sugar production that is 100% biodegradable and compostable. Beyond the containers, Isabel's is actively transitioning to sustainable food production across the entire supply chain, taking specific steps to minimize waste and harmful byproducts at every stage.

The goal is simple: the food you eat and the packaging it arrives in should both be moving in the same direction — toward something better for you, and for the environment.

Why the Farm-to-Table Difference Is Real

The phrase "farm-to-table" gets used a lot. But at Isabel's, it describes something specific: a two-hectare farm in Alfonso, Cavite, run by a family that started with a dream of simply growing good food. Nine trained workers. Crops free from pesticides and fertilizers. A kitchen led by a chef and nutritionist who care about what they're putting in your meals. Packaging made from sugarcane that returns to the earth.

This is what natural meal delivery in the Philippines can look like when it's built with intention — from the soil up. The farm is real. The family is real. The food is grown the way it should be.
